"In Paris, we deliver 1 to 5 tonnes a day, and in Lyon 1 to 2 tonnes," explains Mathieu Al Mousli, co-founder of Ayopa alongside Simon Paramananda..
Mathieu, as restaurant owner, was facing supply difficulties: delivery times not respected, accessibility problems, etc. When Mathieu and Simon contacted suppliers at the Rungis international market, they quickly identified the logistical problem.
"Cyclelogistics was the obvioux option" emphasis Mathieu. Efficient for the delivery of small parcels, cyclelogistics allows Ayopa to deliver the entire city of Paris from one central hub located in the Sentier.
Logistics model
This optimization is enabled by the Lift range designed on the principle of modularity, ease of use and micro-containerization. The micro-containers are on wheels and easily interchangeable, so that when the riders returns from a round, he can instantly set off again with a ready module for greater efficiency.
Assurer la chaîne du froid
The cold chain designed by Ayopa has been validated by the Declanchy group, specialist in refrigerated transport since 1968, which acquired the young company in 2023.
Thanks to mini-containerization, the modules are not opened between the time they are prepared in the refrigerated warehouse at Rungis and the customer's door, keeping the cold inside.
Simon tells us that, at the request of certain customers, independent organizations have placed monitors in the modules during the heat of summer. Over the course of a delivery day, temperatures varied between 0 and 2°C..
Riders also follow sanitary protocols for the delivery of temperature-controlled food products: no placing of packages on the floor, limited opening of modules and cleaning them after each use..
The advantages of Ayopa by Delanchy
In addition to offering its employees comfortable salary conditions, a health insurance scheme and prospects for career development, Ayopa trains its riders in-house to ensure maximum know-how..Thanks to the Delanchy group, Ayopa intends to deploy its cyclelogistics model in other French cities, where the cities of Paris and Lyon were deployed by Ayopa prior to its integration into the group. The only barrier identified: finding cross-docking platforms for upstream preparation.
The containerization approach enables Ayopa to limit its land requirements in city centers. The current Paris hub measures just 60m² and is used solely "to store equipment", as Simon explains. The containers are picked up directly by the riders who meet the truck with the BicyLift.
Today Ayopa received its new branded Ayopa by Delanchy containers, a source of pride for the two companies who "share the same values", namely "to have the lowest possible carbon impact on cold deliveries".
